…must come to an end. Summer came and is on its way out the door but I didn’t want it all to end without updating you on what my summer was like! At the beginning of the year, I made a goal for myself to branch out and attend at least 3 natural hair events for the entire year so that I can meet you all and learn more about networking with naturalistas! Well, thankfully I was able to exceed that goal in one season and I know that it doesn’t stop here!
My summer kicked off by attending The Philadelphia Natural Hair Show for the very first time and I absolutely loved it! I met so many great natural hair moguls in addition to some on-the-rise hair bloggers such as Naturelle Me (www.naturelleme.blogspot.com) & Juboolee (www.juboolee.com).
In July, I attended Taliah Waajid’s World Natural Hair Show in NYC and met Ms. Waajid herself–it was such a pleasure! The two-day affair was filled with workshops, vendor displays, live music, mingling, etc. and it was definitely a day to remember! (pics in the collage above)
Finally, in August I attended the Blissful Curls Bloggers Cruise event in NYC and met so many of my favorite natural hair Youtubers that I’ve been faithfully watching for several years now! As seen in the collage above, I had the honor of meeting Whitney of Naptural85, Jenell from BlakIzBeautyful, Taren Guy, Antoinette and Shanti of Around the Way Curls, Tara Linda and Jessica from HeyGorJess! Hosted by the beautiful and inspirational CEO of Curls, Mahisha Dellinger, the day was filled with heart-felt stories, live music, endless photos, mingling, afros, sun, fun and great food–just cruisin and perusing the Hudson River! Personally, this was my favorite event to date and I was so blessed to be accompanied by my beautiful friends Gianna Morris and Sherol Wiltshire as they supported my attendance and indulged in a day filled with natural hair memories!
So what’s next? As summer comes to an end, I am thrilled to announce that I will be one of the featured bloggers participating in Philly’s First Beauty Bazaar this Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014 from 2-8pm. Check the flyer below for more details.
Til next time curlfriends, for curls sake! =)
